Help! I'm Meeeelting....

OK, so it's early yet and I am actually bundled up in a blanket...to be explained in a second...but when crickets are chirping at 7:30 in the morning you just KNOW what is ahead of you for the day. So to beat the heat I have already turned on the swamp cooler because if we keep the house cooler in the cool AM hours of the day it only gets up to about 80, on days like today, inside. So now you now why I am wrapped up in a blanket...I am sitting at the computer with cold air blowing over me...I need to remember this when I am escaping downstairs after cooking in the kitchen tonight (can you say 80+ in the kitchen)! You would think that we would have GREAT central air system with Mathew being an HVAC installer but we don't. House isn't wired for it & that my friends SUCKS! We have to add a whole new breaker box and run wires...etc. etc. etc. Just MORE money to spend so it'll be a while longer...I am actually looking forward to going into work for a few hours for a meeting just to be somewhere cooler! LOL
So that is how WE beat the heat around here, if you call keeping the house 80 degrees beating the heat, which I don't! How do you all survive? I am up for ALL tips!
Hope it's cooler in your corner of the world! Until later...

A little about Mathew

Mathew is a thirty- some- thing HVAC installer. He has been in construction since he was about 16 and has done almost every aspect of the job. He took brief hiatuses from construction to do things like delivering electronic boards all over the Twin Cities Metro area, electronic board assembly, delivering building materials through out Northern Utah, Breeding quarter horses (and all of the fun stuff that goes with it) on a ranch, and even managed a small engine repair shop. His favorite hiatus was when he became a stay-at-home-Dad...which is where he had his best job performance. Matt's passion is music. He stated playing the drums when he was about 18 months. His Grandpa Jaeger taught him how to play 1, 2, 3 so he could practice his uumpaa music. He has played just about every type of music there is and is currently in a band called Sould. They play a jazzy funky rock fusion kind of thing.

A little about MJ

MJ is a thirty- some- thing Domestic Goddess. She also has a part time side job in the Orthopedic & Neurosurgery department at one of the local hospitals. She is going back to college this fall to get going on the degree thing after a 17 year hiatus from learning things from books. As opposed to her Domestic Goddess Life Degree that you learn flying by the seat of your pants. This semester she is taking Wife 1601, Housekeeping 1601, Cooking With Variety 1601, Female Teenager Dating 101, Male Teenager Attitude 101, Female Hormonal Tween 201, Male Lazy Tween 201, Terrible 2's with Screaming 501 & One Years Olds 601. She dropped Laundry 1601 but will be taking that again SOON!She loves to make cards and has started scrap booking. She is attempting being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and makes enough to support her "addiction" to these crafty ways. She also loves music both listening & playing.

A little about Gina

Gina is starting her Sophomore year this fall in High School. Among her regular required classes she is in Jazz Band (Bass Guitar) & the Marching Band (2nd Bass Drum of the drum line). She is looking for a job so she can join the rest of the world and have a cell phone and text to her hearts content. We WISH she was learning to drive but she just doesn't want to! Has ANYONE else out there EVER experienced that?! She loves hanging out with friends, listening to music (it's her life), playing her Bass guitar, learning ALL of Ben Folds songs on the piano, reading, and My Space. She is a quirky girl and is usually going 60MPH. One day, when she grows up, she wants to share her love for music and teach Band. She has her sights set on The Berkly School of Music...which isn't TOO far away so Dad & Mom are OKay with that.

A little about Michael

Michael likes to be called Mike now but will ALWAYS be Michael to Mom. Laney insists on Mikey...but that is a whole post fore her! He will be starting 8th Grade this fall at the Junior High. He is in the Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Band (Alto Sax). He likes to "FIX" things. Currently he has been fixing all of the bikes in the house. He has quite the knack for it. He also LOVES to cook, garden, hang out with friends & be well a teenage boy! He says he won't EVER grow up but he WILL learn how to drive...maybe even before Gina! He does aspire to make Banana Jam because it is his favorite fruit.
